If you are interested in learning to play the electric bass, and are looking for an unconventional, more "right-brained" approach to taking lessons, you've come to the right place.
My lessons are focused around the joy and art of music. Knowledge of the instrument, technique, style and an enhanced listening experience all emerge from this premise. Learning an instrument should be fun, and instruction should be geared toward the individual. My lessons are very organic, involving constant dialogue to ensure the student is being challenged, and moving in the musical direction they desire.
Learning to play bass by ear is a primary focus. We will work with your favorite music, breaking down the elements of basslines. We will explore various techniques and sounds while learning to play parts and whole songs. From this experience and practice emerges an increasingly intimate knowledge of, and connection to the instrument.
My bass lessons are a full hour and cost $30.00 each. They can be held either at my studio in Poughkeepsie, or at your home (if located at a reasonable distance). Please contact me for references, questions and/or to scheudle a lesson.
